The Stars of British Jazz was born from a ‘joining of forces' of some of the best of the old and new musicians on the British jazz scene today. All are highly respected musicians in their own right and play together with great affinity and verve.
Phoenix Jazzmen
Chinatown
The Phoenix Jazzmen are a newly formed Traditional or Dixieland jazz band. Most of the the band members have worked together over the years in different line-ups and all have many years experience playing at jazz clubs, festivals and private functions, they all enjoy playing in the Dixieland style.
This style of jazz is very much in the party spirit, and is a big favourite with all ages from grandparents right down to toddlers.
Great for all sorts of functions; parties, fetes, parades, anywhere you want some happy foot-tapping music.
Laurie Chescoe Reunion Band

The London Hot Rhythm Boys Led by John Sutton who was with the Pasadena Roof Orchestra for over 20 years, before joining the Chris Barber Band for 5 years. The band’s arrangements are taken from the original masterpieces of Red Nicholls, Bix Beiderbecke and early Bing Crosby amongst others, representing the small band jazz of that period.
The LHRB is a six piece band with several vocalists amongst it's line-up but for something extra, lead vocals can be taken by Heather Simmons or Duncan Galloway who also appears with the Pasadena Roof Orchestra, and is a leading exponent of the early Crosby style. the Rhythm Boys can also include traditional jazz numbers in their repertoire.
