The Sticky Wicket Swing Band
Swing from the 1930's, 1940's & 1950's at it's best! This dynamic band recreates all the excitement of the era with classic tunes and original arrangements.
The swing era, is generally accepted as being the period between 1935 and 1946 which was the hey-day of the great American big bands, from Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman through Count Basie, Gene Krupa to Glenn Miller and many others, the vocalists swung too- Ella Fitzgerald, Billy Holiday, amongst many others.
Sticky's music combines elements of all the aforementioned with a bit of ‘Boogie Blues’ thrown in for good measure; all intended to keep audiences ‘swingin and jumpin’!
The All Star Jazz and Swing Band
The seven piece version of the All Star Big Band, still giving a big band sound with arrangements from all the greats, Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Gene Krupa amongst others, but also able to incorporate Dixieland style tunes, and also Party Pop music from the Sixties, Seventies Eighties and Nineties, so an all round package ideal for any wedding reception or party, with something to suit everyone. Dave Chance
Dave’s live vocals from the repertoires of the great song stylists, Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Dean Martin, Matt Monro, Neil Diamond amongst others, are accompanied by superb orchestral arrangements played as backing tracks, giving an authentic, full band experience, or with live backing from some of the UK's finest musicians. Dave is also an accomplished comedian.
The Jazz Friends
The Jazz Friends specialise in lively, always swinging jazz. Within this framework also reside the sounds of Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington and Count Basie making the band ideal for concerts, clubs, dances, festivals, riverboat shuffles or indeed functions where happy, lively music is required. Whilst concentrating on the jazz sounds of the 20's, 30's, 40's and 50's, the Jazz Friends do not resign themselves to re-runs of 'golden oldies' and can combine their traditional repertoire with more contemporary blues material, mainstream or even Dixieland. Below is a small selection of some of the styles the Jazz Friends can lend themselves to.
