Brief Description |
• Mainstream Jazz
A smooth, sophisticated style of jazz. Very adaptable can be anything from a duo upwards.
• Dixieland or Traditional
Normally a six-piece line-up. British Trad was very popular in the 50's & 60's with artists such as Kenny Ball, Acker Bilk, Chris Barber.
• Jump Jive
Music, as the name suggests, to get you dancing.
• Swing & Big Band
Starts as small as a seven-piece, still with a big band feel, right up to a 17-piece orchestra, In the style of Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller, Gene Krupa etc.
• Hot Club
Usually a three-piece ensemble, Django style with guitars and bass, add a violin or reed for more variety.
